If you have a child enrolled at Stella Maris Academy, then you are part of our Family Association. The role of the Family Association is to support our teachers and the student experience. We are also here to encourage families to practice their faith at school, at home and in our community.
There are numerous ways to be involved in your Family Association.
There are opportunities to see your child(ren) for lunch and/or on the playgrounds by volunteering for lunch and recess duty. Each class also has room parents to organize parent efforts for that class. There are needs for field trip and dance chaperones and help with classroom parties and other special events. Additional possibilities might include assisting teachers in and out of the classroom, working in our school libraries, or assembling materials for classroom, office, or event use. Volunteers also staff our Family Association boards. We also have event and activity coordinators as well as committee members and volunteers who help to carry out the tasks that need to be accomplished to bring about meaningful and well-orchestrated programming. Volunteers are needed to help beautify the grounds of our campuses. There are opportunities for every skill set and schedule.
Please be sure to watch our parent portal to sign up for identified needs. If you have any questions, don't be shy about contacting a member of your campus board or the identified coordinator of the activity you are interested in. Also, if you see additional needs that are not listed, please let us know!
Each family is expected to contribute at least 20 hours of volunteer time to our Stella Maris community. As you complete each volunteer session, please be sure to record the activity and time on the index card assigned to your family. These can be found in the "recipe box" located in your school office.
