Stella Maris Academy is committed to providing an exemplary education to all who desire. The Tuition Steward Program is being introduced for the 2018-2019 school year to further align our program with our mission and vision.
Our present tuition model provides less than half of the revenue required to educate our students while the remaining revenue comes from operating income and donations from parishes, individual donors and fundraising efforts. National benchmarks for Catholic schools suggest 80% or more of budgeted revenue should come from tuition. With much research and consideration, the Tuition Steward Program is designed to help us move toward a healthier balance of revenue from tuition while continuing to cultivate parish and individual gifts of stewardship. Be assured, our commitment to making a Stella Maris Academy education available to current and future families has not changed. Need-based tuition assistance is available through Community Support Scholarships.
A Stella Maris Academy education is a reflection of the investment in the future of each child through the sacrifice of each family, the generosity of our donors and the ardent commitment we make in partnering with you. The Tuition Steward Program states a Standard Tuition Rate and invites families to thoughtfully consider paying at a level closer to the true cost of educating their children. The 2018-2019 Standard Tuition Rate includes fees for technology, books, yearbook, and the Family Association, fees that were previously billed separately. Families who enroll more than one child at Stella Maris Academy in grades K-8 will receive a progressive $600/student discount starting with the second child.
All tuition contributions are gifts of stewardship, directly supporting the educational mission of Stella Maris Academy. We ask you to prayerfully consider contributing more than the Standard Tuition Rate. Your financial gift of any size will allow us to more vigorously implement our School Strategic Plan, specifically, to grow our Formation Model of Education, enhance teacher compensation and professional development, and invest in additional areas that contribute towards an exemplary education for our students.
Stella Maris is a special place, like no other, because of our mission. Thank you for being a part of it.
For the 2017-18 academic year, thank you to the generosity of our parishes and donors, we awarded over $175,000 in Community Support Scholarships helping many families experience a Stella Maris Academy education.
