Extended Day Aide Summary

The Extended Day Aide is responsible for supervising children before school and/or after school.
This position provides homework help, technology assistance, creative activities, sports activities and games. This may include going over lessons with students individually, answering questions, and working with small groups. The Extended Day Aide will assist students to stay on task. This may require going over instructions with students, mediating disagreements, and helping students to respect others and being vigilant about the safety of all students.


Extended Day Aides must visibly model the values and principles of the faith through assisting in facilitating a learning environment that is positive, affirming, peaceful, growth-oriented, and faith-filled while providing respect for the dignity of all persons within the faith community. The Extended Day Aide assists with the school’s curriculum with methodology that promotes achievement, positive interaction, and the development of the Gospel and Church values inherent to Catholic education. The aide must adhere to school policies in a manner that is reflective of the values, practices, teachings and standards of fairness implicit to Catholic institutions.

Marketing & Communications Coordinator Summary

Collaborating closely with the president, principals of the schools, and as a member of the leadership team, the Marketing & Communication Coordinator fulfills the mission and advances the goals of the school by planning, guiding, evaluating and executing the marketing and communications efforts of the school. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator fulfills the mission of the school by planning, guiding, evaluating and executing the marketing and communications efforts of the school. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator envisions, implements, and manages communication strategies to create excellent school-wide communication among its stakeholder groups. The Marketing & Communication Coordinator serves as an integral member of a committed team dedicated to advancing the mission of the Church through the school.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Plan, write, edit and coordinate school-wide and external publications/communication and grant acknowledgment such as CREED in collaboration with the Stella Maris Academy principals, president, leadership team and board ensuring completeness, accuracy and consistency in communication

  2. Evaluate and best utilize communication channels using multiple modes including the student information system, website, newsletters, publications/articles and email campaigns such as Constant Contact 

  3. Establish and implement best practice communication processes, protocol and policy to ensure consistent and effective communication through various stakeholders

  4. Develop and implement a marketing and communication plan that supports strategic initiative in collaboration with school leadership team

  5. Communicate with area parishes through regular bulletin announcement entries, including CREED grant acknowledgment

  6. Coordinating and executing the design and production of the school’s materials and school related publications 

  7. Coordinate and conduct photo shoots, production needs, graphic design, and technical support for various marketing and communication 

  8. Coordinate social media campaign 

  9. Coordinate completion of annual yearbook

  10. Maintain and update the school website

  11. Organize and contribute to a library of photos, audio and video for use in print and electronic media

  12. Serve as media and public relations liaison handling press releases and media coordination 

  13. Support the work of Development by ways of event support, promotion, communication 

  14. Communicate effectively with the faculty and staff to keep them informed

  15. Fulfill strategic goals based on strategic plan 

  16. Attend and/or complete all workshops and training as directedOther duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelors of Arts Degree preferred or

  2. Job related certificate or

  3. Similar work experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must possess superior communication and presentation skills. 

OTHER EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  1. InDesign and Photoshop knowledge/experience as well as basic html knowledge

  2. Collaborative/friendly work style with ability to project professionalism and sincerity

  3. Prefer an active member of a Catholic community in order to express personal knowledge of the Catholic faith and commitment to Catholic ideals

  4. Possess good organizational skills and is capable of multitasking

  5. Successfully pass a criminal background check
