It was a memorable and historic week for SMA athletics! We had THREE skiers compete in state competitions, representing our school with excellence and pride. 🏔️

Alpine Skiing Excellence

Our Alpine ski team was represented by senior Annabel and 8th grader Luciana. Both skiers performed exceptionally well at the state meet, embodying the true spirit of Stella Maris Sentinels!

Annabel, a seasoned competitor who has now attended four state meets, delivered her best performance to date, finishing 4th in state! 🥇 Her consistency and improvement over four years of state competition showcase remarkable dedication and skill.

Luciana, competing in her very first state meet as an 8th grader, skied with skill and grace, demonstrating tremendous poise under pressure. Her future in Alpine skiing looks incredibly bright!

Nordic Skiing Makes History

Stella Maris Academy also has a large and growing Nordic ski team coached by Joe Gerard. This team was proudly represented at state by 7th grader Carson.

Remarkably, Carson was the only 7th or 8th grade boy competing at the state level. 🌟 To reach this level of accomplishment speaks volumes about Carson's hard work and commitment, as well as the exceptional coaching and support he has received!

His achievement generated significant buzz throughout the skiing community across the state, with sports outlets closely following his performance.

A Family of Champions

Carson's entire family exemplifies athletic excellence. His brother Caleb will compete nationally in Utah in just a few weeks for biathlon, another significant achievement in the Nordic world. The family's dedication to winter sports and academic excellence makes them outstanding representatives of our school values.

Celebrating Our Student-Athletes

We are incredibly proud of Annabel, Luciana, and Carson for their outstanding performances and for representing Stella Maris Academy with such distinction. Their achievements reflect not only their individual talent and hard work but also the strength of our athletics programs and the dedication of our coaches.
